“The truth is not always beautiful, nor beautiful words the truth.”

—Laozi, ancient philosopher

Comfort. Beauty. Perfection. Pleasure. It is safe to assume that most people tend to prefer the things we like, because who would willfully choose ugliness over beauty? Failure over flaw? Pain and frustration over ecstasy? After twenty years of nursing and moving from city to town and all around while getting a bit older, I’ve come to learn, in pursuit of such preferences, and often with great success, many people have developed a sense of aversion to anything that threatens comfort, so much so that some refuse to acknowledge reality as it takes new shape from moment to moment. More important than the pursuit of physical comfort however, a greater concern from my perspective is the attachment to mental+emotional comfort that is rooted in identity, as it relates to an individual’s place in a community.

In the modern world, social media has integrated with basic daily activities that once required people to look each other in the eye and shake hands, giving the opportunity for appearance to yield more influence than sincerity and depth. We also have seemingly exponential layers of administration, and intangible boundaries, roads, blind corners, and obstacles that arise from terms, conditions, contracts and policies policed by individuals who operate as a number that is programmed to say “I’m just doing my job.” This heavily layered and lobbied stagnating structure gives us more separation than community, despite whatever inclusivity slogan may be at the forefront of various marketing and advertising tactics…..”we’re ALL in this together,”….if this is true, then why do I now know what the term “gaslighting” means when I never knew it in the previous decade?

In the modern world, for many people, there is little to no time to exercise “the siesta,” to actually take a real break, and in some cities, to sit in natural peace and quiet. Even after we experienced a sense of slower paced living during the nearly lockstep lockdowns between 2020 and 2022, and were simultaneously given the opportunity to seek deeper innerstanding about life, in 2023 it’s like we’ve hopped blissfully back on the rat race wheel to run at whatever pace our social insurance number requires us to, despite the obvious corruption that is rising to the surface of this seemingly Godless society. We live in a society that bows to the god of money (mammon), yet takes for granted the gifted breath that is with us from the moment of birth to the moment our lungs exhale for the final time.

With the fast pace of information, be it accurate or not with regards to left, right, or wrong news sources that may or may not be funded by special interest groups, and with the abundance of personal opinions, articles, and cat videos where we must exercise self control as to whether we truly feel we want to “like, share, and subscribe,” how do we know what we truly want, when we’re bombarded by so much information and have little time to attentively sift through it all? For some, the answer is easy, as they will say “I just don’t care enough to know, it’s easier to do what I’m told, or to follow what everyone else is doing.” This sense of apathy and irresponsibility is a big problem, and if it isn’t addressed by every parent and adult on this planet, The Truth will rear its ugly head at the most inconvenient moment; Ignorance is bliss…until it isn’t.

The truth of today's society is that we are exposed to vast amounts of information, more than any other generation before us, and there are people in positions of power and authority who use gaslighting as a technique to avoid answering hard questions that may make them lose face. So if we live in a world where “we’re all in this together,” but some of us dig deep and work hard to find “The TRUTH,” and others don’t make any effort, yet we all want to be happy, how do we determine, in a polarized world:

“Who chooses to live a lie, and who chooses to do what is necessary to live in truth?”

Those who willfully choose to live a lie, or at least obliviously live out of alignment with The Truth may:

  • Avoid asking tough questions

  • Overindulge in distractive activities

  • Use “the science” as a religious belief system and may even smear non-believers

  • Propagate the tenets of Solipsism (there is no such thing as Objective Reality)

  • Seek to control the Free Will of others by force, coercion, or emotional manipulation of fear and guilt

  • Lack Courage and subsequently operate from a lack of knowledge and faith

Those who choose to seek alignment with The Truth may:

  • Ask tough questions, regardless of politics and popular opinions

  • Experience wonder and take little to nothing for granted

  • Have Faith and the Humility to admit mistakes

  • Acknowledge the existence of evil, and muster the Courage to face fear

  • Innerstand that Love is Truth, and Truth is both Kind and Cruel, when necessary

  • Comprehend that “the science” is a farce, and real Science is a method

We live in a polarized world with information that is so abundant we’re drowning to the point of confusion and apathy, and the only lifeguard with the chance to save us is Objective Truth and Actual Science, free from politics. It is easy to reach for the information that reinforces our illusion of identity, especially if our paycheques and livelihood depend on it. Unfortunately, it has become too common to make enemies out of those who challenge our illusory beliefs, and subsequently our livelihood. Consequently, we get situations where individuals are not safely permitted to express opinions that aren’t endorsed by a particular ideology, even if the opposing view is extremely sound. The only reason we’ve reached this state is because individuals seek to control what cannot be controlled.

To believe one has the authority to control what cannot be controlled is to live a lie, which is why many people don’t care that “others” get censored and gaslit. When one minority gets power and becomes a majority, how does this new majority ensure they don’t become the same enemy that stirred within them the original sense of their own discontent? This is the stage we are at in the “game of control and power.” A new ideology is attempting to lead humanity without addressing the source of our struggle, the choice between Matter and Spirit. Until the distressed learn to trust the holy spirit within, they will attempt to force on the innocent a paradigm motivated by their own fear and lack of innerstanding.

Attempts to rewrite or rebrand what has been available for thousands of years is the work of fools who fail to distinguish the fine line between arrogance and confidence. If any mortal took spirituality seriously, they’d come to understand (1) “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” requires one to KNOW “God’s kingdom is within you,” and beckons every individual to recognize (re + cognize = remember) their own unique HeartMind (Intuition and Experiential Knowledge). Additionally, if any mortal took spirituality seriously, rather than throw babies out with bathwater, they’d come to recognize that the slogan of “diversity and inclusivity” is summed up in the statement (2)“Love your neighbour as yourself.” Since nowhere in that statement does it suggest the quality of a neighbour to be dependent upon ethnicity, economic status or anything else, it beckons us to not overcomplicate things and simply treat each other, different or not, with care and respect.

Whether or not the bible was perverted by some people claiming to be of this or that religious organization does not give argument against the sensibility of Jesus’ words: “There is no commandment greater than these,” (1+2). In a world where materialists define all things in a deluded attempt to ultimately pigeon hole God’s creation, closing it into narrow-minded perception whereby they (falsely) feel justified to engineer and alter the genetics of plant, animal, human and the rest of nature, many of us have tough decisions ahead. Do you want to live a lie, or, do you want to live in THE TRUTH? The choice is yours, as Creator God understands, Love is not possible under tyranny; Love is a choice, freely given. For those who believe there is no such thing as FreeWill, you’re wrong, and in time, the thorns of God’s rose garden will remind you of your fault. Choose wisely, and act accordingly, and in divine time, we all will be rewarded appropriately and in accordance with Natural Law.
